Frequently asked questions
Short answers to common questions.
01
What is an MTProto proxy?
MTProto is the native transport protocol Telegram uses. An MTProto proxy is a relay that forwards your Telegram traffic through an intermediate server, so you can reach Telegram even if the direct route is blocked on your network.
02
Is it safe?
Yes, for reaching Telegram. An MTProto proxy only relays Telegram traffic. Your messages are still end-to-end encrypted by Telegram itself, and a proxy cannot read them. It also does not affect any other app on your device.
03
Why did the proxy stop working?
Public servers can go down for maintenance, hit rate limits, or be blocked by ISPs. If that happens, open drproxy.io and pick another server from the list — they are verified continuously.
04
Is it really free?
Yes. Every server listed on drproxy.io is free to use. We do not run ads, we do not ask for accounts, and we do not keep logs.
05
Which devices are supported?
Any device that runs the Telegram app: iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, and Telegram Web. The Connect button opens the official Telegram app installed on your device.
